I actually don't like to drink caffeine so Coke isn't really an option for me. But the ginger ale seems to be working okay, I just don't like the taste. I'm not much of a soda person in general (except for root beer--I love root beer--doesn't do much for the stomach though). I'm going to put some of these snack ideas on my shopping list for today though.

Did anyone mention ginger snaps as a snack idea? They also helped me!

Cinnamon candies helped my queasiness a lot. I was always in the mood for either sour lemon or cinnamon. Re: the coke - you can always try caffeine free.

I could only drink Root Beer while I was pregnant. If I tried to drink any other kinds of pop I would get really queasy. I munched on crushed ice a lot. The only time I ever felt queasy really was when I drank pop or when I was around foods I didn't like. The smell of Sour Kraut while pregnant was not one I really enjoyed.

Sour Kraut sounds really good. But I remember thinking that last time too and out it came!

Anyway, do you think Club Soda would work? I feel like I am drinking too much sugar (in addition to the hard candies--all which are helping), and I don't like to drink the alternate ingredients in diet soda. What is it about soda that helps your stomach anyway? I think I will at least try it. I don't want to get diabetes or anything.

I'm not sure what it is but yeah club soda might help!

What about sugar free or naturally sweetened hard candy?

I loved toast while pregnant, and I munched on carrot sticks a lot. I craved fountain cokes from the gas station down the road like a beast. That craving has stayed, and I'm obsessed w/ them (esp. with flavoring in the coke. OMG. I want one right now.)
I hope you feel better soon. I know how that feels to feel queasy when NEEDING to eat, but nothing sounds good b/c of the queasiness. That stinks. I hope it passes quickly. For me, it was very short lived.. like 2-3 weeks at most, and I never threw up. Just felt kind of yucky at meal time.. esp. dinner.

PS- I just saw this and wanted to reinforce again that mine didn't last nearly that long... so maybe it won't for you this time! Each pregnancy is different! I hope it is over soon.

I sure hope not. Last week it ended around 15 weeks. But I haven't been throwing up as much this time, so that is a good sign. Last time I didn't know what to do, and the doc never offered anything other than Prevacid (didn't do a thing). I didn't know I could ask for something. I didn't know medication existed for it! And I didn't know any tricks to stave it off.

When I was pregnant they said if ms got too horrible that they could prescribe a pill for it but it would make me sleepy. I hate that feeling. So I was really really happy that I really didn't get ms, except maybe once or twice. Normally the only thing that bugged me was smells, BO was the worst I worked at a gas station and some of the men that came in there really stank. That sucked.
