Default Exactly how do you determine how far along you are....

Well I went to the doctor today to get set up on Medicaid and what not and she asked me when the first day of your last period was, and I told her Nov 28, which would make me 6 wks tomorrow, well Nov 28 it only lasted a few days and was very light, but Oct 27 was more heavy and longer, so I dunno if I told her the right date or not, but can't they change it when you have your US done? That's what happend with number 1 they were a month off and whenever I went in for my Us they changed my EDD, just kinda confused. Thanks in Advance.

They go by u/s and HCG levels. Your LMP is just a guidline and in a lot of cases inaccurate. My LMP was Nov 1 (or OCT 31st--don't really remember) but I'm only 8 1/2 weeks.

Oh ok.....I was just wondering b/c I'm showing more than to be just 6 weeks, but I could be just bloated. Would they be able to tell me at my first prenatal appt. what my HCG levels are and be able to tell me exactly how far I am? Thanks again in advance.

Yes, they often change edd's after taking measurements with an an ultrasound or two.

You might have gotten pregnant after your Oct period, and what you thought was your period in Nov could have been implantation bleeding. Also, some women continue to have periods while pregnant.

Additionally, women who've been pregnant before tend to "show" earlier with 2nd + pregnancies.

Thanks for the information. Yeah I`m getting the idea that my period in Nov was just implantation bleeding, I will just let her know whenever I go to my first appt. which isn't untl the 29th of this month. And yeah this is my second, so maybe that's it.

I'm sure this problem has resolved itself by now! What is your due date?

The date of my LMPs was always dead on. With this third child (he's two months) I told the nurses when I was due.

Hmm well they worked out i was due may 28th but on the 9th june my little one came along and she has signs of being a week early and a week late lol

so even now they do not know if she was a week early or a week late. they do a rough estimate end of the day your little one will come when she is ready nothing you can do if she or he doesnt want to come out before he she is ready.
