B'sgirl, I can't see the clip on my mom's computer (I'm at their house right now), and I'm wondering -- is that Maisy the Mouse that used to be on TV?? (a cartoon) I loved that show. It's very cute.
What about Shrek? I don't know b/c I've never really watched it, but I've heard others say that their children really loved it. I have issues with language that is used in some of the new movies too though... ie: the end of Shrek sings, "I like big butts, and I cannot lie...." I don't want C going around singing that. I don't want him to say butt at all, ideally. We have other words that sound nicer.

So, Jana, I guess I'm picky too.
On that note, I will mention that I think we pick up on things kids don't even notice whatsoever (now that we're older and thinking about what children should/should not say). When I was still teaching, we went on a field trip with 8th graders, and someone brought the DVD of Grease for the bus ride. WOAH... I never noticed how much sexual content there was to that movie until I watched it with a bus full of 8th graders!!! I seriously watched that movie ALL THE TIME with my family when we were little -- it's still a Thanksgiving tradition that we bust it out after our big meal (the women, anyway). I don't know why we do it on that holiday, but we do. LOL. I never noticed the language until I was thinking of children watching it. I don't think kids notice half of the stuff we think they do, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with being careful and thinking twice about what is appropriate. I would definitely do the same thing.
