All day my DD has been telling me potty but most of the time we were out at a place there was no potty for her to sit on. (By the way she still in diapers full time) So we are finally home and she says potty, I run with her to the bathroom where she has halfway pooped in her diaper but I still put her on the potty. She finished, I wiped and that was the end of it well at least I thought. She said potty again this time no diaper on I figured she already went a minute ago she doesn't have to go. Boy was I wrong she was totally standing in front of the tv saying look popo. It looked like a huge dog took a massive dump on my floor and she was so proud of herself. I wanted to throw up but it was totally my fault since she said she had to go. I think I need to get into the swing of this potty thing she is ready I'm not.

before she figured out how to hold up her own head steadily, K would smack my chin with her head and just screeeeeeam....I always felt so bad about it!
Her daddy was "flying" her the other day and she spit up right in his eye! I wasn't allowed to laugh at the time but I do when he's not looking because he laughed when she spit up on my head while I was doing the same thing. *snicker* |

Here's a good one....
Last night we were out for dinner at a bbq restaurant. Jax was eating chicken so I put a small dab of bbq sauce on his plate to dip into. He enjoyed it so much that it was gone really quickly so I put another scoop on his plate, this time bigger. He kept saying "mommy, this is spicy", "it's so spicy" and grabbing for his water. Finally I looked down and realized that I gave him the bbq sauce with a big habenero pepper in there!!! There were a few different kinds and I guess the second time I wasn't paying as much attention to what I was giving him. Poor kid, DH and I tasted it and our mouths were on fire. I felt horrible!!!! |

![]() A was sitting right beside me on the couch, as usual, but he was facing the back of the couch. Suddenly, he somersaulted off the couch and cracked his head HARD on a couple of toys in the floor... I felt so badly! A loves loves loves to help do laundry, including putting the clothes in the dryer and closing the dryer door. Well we have folding doors for the laundry closet.. and (with DH watching mind you!) A smashed his ring finger (the tip) in the door, but kept pushign the door so it stayed squished. This was 3 weeks ago and half his nail is still all beat up looking! About a month ago i was fighting my wiggler into his car seat when i picked him up from d/c... I finally get him to sit still and I clip the top half together, get distracted by his teacher, close the door and get in my seat. About 2 minutes later I see him, his feet against the seat in front of him, almost totally horizontal! I had forgotten to actually buckle him in! I was so freaked out!!! My brain is just in the fog sometimes I guess.... |

A couple of weeks ago my DH and I were having a "discussion" and my son headed for the stairs which most of the time we let him play on because he loves to play with the gate (practical right!) and is very very good on the stairs. Next thing we know he is at the bottom of the stairs crying. We had no idea from how high up he fell. He stopped crying soon and didn't seem to have any bumps, no harm done. Just guilt for not paying attention to him.
Well he got really sleepy earlier than usual that day and fell asleep on the way to and from the grocery store. I let him sleep for a while got him up for lunch which he refused. My DH was worried about the fall and his tiredness but I was sure he was fine (I am the medical professional in the family, I should know right) Anyway, i put him down for his nap and he woke up 2HOURS later screaming and lethargic. Absolutly could no hold his head up and was unresponsive. We took him to the emergency room and I was sure by now he had a closed head injury. He was also very very hot. Any way, long story longer... He had an ear infection and a high fever which may or may not have lead to a seizure! It had nothing to do with the head injury even though I kept insisting on a head CT. Moral of the story is, lock the gate and wait to disagree with my husband when DS is sleeping No harm done. |
