Unhappy Is it?

Last Thursday(not yesterday) I started bleeding light at first but gradually heavier. It wasn't my time to bleed, and it normally isn't very heavy and I almost never have clots.. This time I had clots and very heavy bleeding. It stopped for a few days so I chalked it up to just an early period. Well four days after it stopped, it started again. This time very heavy right away and I'm passing clots larger than silver dollars.. I had cramps so bad last night I couldn't stand up right without gasping in pain. My lower back hurts and even my vagina hurts. It still isn't time for my period(I know because I'm on a low estrogen pill). Is this a miscarriage? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It certainly sounds very similar to my first miscarriage, but you'd have to go to your doc to check. If everything is passing on it's own your doc may not be able to tell now though. If you're still having problems, I highly suggest going to your ob/gyn.

It could be that you have a growth or something in your uterus. My SIL had that problem and it would happen sporadically every few months. It turned out the she had an allergy to gluten and it caused buildup in her uterus.

Can I just rant a minute about stupid dumb F*ck nurses??
I called to get in to my doc.. I had to be "evaluated" by a nurse first.. Well this nurse proceeded to inform me that "You no pregnant, how you miscarry?" well.. gee.. I know what my body is doing isn't normal.. My gyno warned me my pill was less effective.. So.. Maybe I got pregnant and am miscarrying? NO! of course not.. every woman knows the INSTANT she conceives, since I didn't, I couldn't possibly be pregnant! That's right girls.. If you don't know for the first few weeks, you can't be pregnant.. Those don't count..

I'm sorry.. I've been with this body a long time.. I've had my period since I was 11. I've birthed TWO children, had an IUD that tried to make me bleed to death.. I've been on this pill for months.. I think I know when my body isn't quite "right".. I found her so insulting. This isn't my normal period.. This is closer to post partum bleeding or my IUD.. I NEVER pass this much tissue and clots.. I never bleed this heavy.. Yet, I can't get any help or even someone to take me seriously because it didn't occur to me in the (likely) few short weeks I was pregnant to pee on a damn stick.

In hindsight, all the signs were there.. My boobs hurt, I was peeing like crazy, hungry all the time, and constantly exhausted. That pretty much sums up the start of both my pregnancies. But I peed on a stick for those when I was about 5-6 weeks along.. So I guess those didn't count either.. Some people should NEVER be nurses.. where's compassion, or trust that an adult female know what changes "stress" brings to her period, and this isn't them.

I just had to vent.. I hung up and cried.

Oh and the final insult? She finally was like "fine come get a test at the lab" I said I couldn't today she says "then you just don't want to know".. right.. it couldn't be that pesky kid getting off the bus soon and me having to pick her up.. no.. I just don't want to know.. Bitch!

Report her. I'd call and go off on her and then report her, but that's just me. Crappy nurses irritate me. I switched OB's because of them .

I mean.. how does that make sense? you can't miscarry if you don't know you're pregnant? What about all those moms that don't even know they're pregnant till they have the baby? That's like saying "You can't have labor if you don't know you're pregnant." It's ridiculous!

That's one thing I can't stand about some medical personnel. They think they know more about your body than you do just because they went to school and read a few books about what sometimes happens to bodies. Drives me crazy!

I agree with the other ladies.....

I would also call and report her. That is not the way a nurse is suppose to handle any kind of situation that she is in. I don't care if you are having a bad day....you step back collect your thoughts and then take on the task.

Working in healthcare for over 10 years I have seen so many things like you described. I would either 1. slap her teeth out of her head or 2. call and throw a fit to administration. If that does no good, call the state nursing board and ask for complaint papers.

I was on the pill FAITHFULLY (Orthotricyclen) and got preg with my 4 1/2 month old. When I was preg w/ my first son I was right at 3 months along before I found out since my periods were so messed up. She sounds like a dip$hit to begin with and if she doesn't have any more compassion than that she needs not be working in healthcare period.

I wish you the best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay. Please report that ol' hag. Degrading behavior is not a part of nursing and she needs fired and/or have her license suspended.
