Default Dating poll

I'm "almost" feeling comfortable enough to start dating again. I dread starting over, but want to get out and live a little. I def. don't want anything serious. Where I live we have no groups/clubs, hangout joints, etc... The majoirty of men here *single or otherwise* are dope heads. How did you girls meet guys when you were single?

Honestly, I met most of my dates at church. My church creates "wards" just for singles and they have TONS of activities because they want us all to get married. We had parties, dinners, religious firesides, dances, hiking, sports activities--all sorts of things. I met DH at church and "wooed" him at the organized hikes and ultimate frisbee games.

I also met quite a few people at country/swing/latin dancing clubs. It sounds like you don't have much of that available there though. That's too bad. Good luck with it though, you deserve to get out and have a good time!

I met my DH thru my cousin. SO it seems thru friends/family is a way to go. They have already checked them out. Maybe once people know you are looking to date again they will be looking to set you up on dates...that can be good or bad...lol

most of the guys that I had dated in the past, I met through friends or family. I also met a few guys at the gym. I know several people that have had GREAT success with eharmony.com
Oddly though, I met dh at an outdoor bar, lol

I met B in college, so that doesn't help you, BUT it was through my roommate, so the friends thing seems to work.

My brother met his wife at a bar.

I have met a couple nice guys. Both are interested in being friends, going to movies/dinner--things like that. Which is good for me. No sex, no "relalationships".

That does sound like a good place to start. If you start out being friends your relationship will be strong and you will have that strong foundation to build off of when and if you decide to take it to the next level.
