Default Fat, calories, sodium, WTH?

I'm trying to figure out a good diet plan that fits me. There's low sodium, fat, calories, carbs, and yadda yadda yadda. My head is spinning. The only things I have a downfall with are sodas and smarties the mostest bestest candy in world and my new addiction
I still only eat once a day with the exception of now and again. T doesn't get off work til late and I had been cooking/eating late until this last week and have been eating between 5-6pm, which is better than 9-10pm. I love fruits and veggies, my eating habits aren't wonderful but if I snack *rare occasion* it's on fruit or yogurt. I have also bought some Cherry Coke Zero. The taste is good, it has no calories, sugars, carbs, but it does have only 10g of sodium less than regular coke.
I guess I need to start weaning myself from the smarties but I am determined to lose this baby fat!
I have known many ppl lose weight while following every diet plan under the sun. Anyone know which is more effective?

Exercise, exercise, exercise. That is basically the only way that I got rid of the last 10 lbs of baby fat. I ate healthy especially low fat and nothing helped. It's also good to eat 6 small healthy meals/day vs. one big meal.

K, you need to eat more frequently. Only eating once a day is killing your metabolism. Even if it's just a small snack like an apple or a handful of nuts, you should try to eat more often. Like Nicole said, exercise too. Good luck - you can do it.

I agree on eating small meals through the day to rev your metabolism. Watching portion sizes is key. I recently lost 8 lbs (I was out of my 'comfort' weight zone) and it was souly from having smaller portions and being really mindful of snacking.
Good luck! Give yourself a week or so with some changes, and all of the sudden you've formed new habits. Slow and steady too - don't expect it all to drop off in a week.

I know you have a hard time eating because of so far unidentified health issues. That' really crappy. It does help to eat more though. I had to force food down my throat during thyroid issues just because I knew I would starve to death if I didn't. It sucks, but it helps.

Definitely, eating more often is key!

Also, low/no fat foods are often high calorie... just remember to check for calories! Oh and as my doc says.. baked doesn't mean good for you.. cookies are baked too

I'm "trying" to eat more often. the thought of food before 3pm makes me wanna puke. Even the thought of toast (which I don't like anyhow) or fruit makes my tummy turn.
At least I'm thinking about eating more often it's hard to do what your body doesn't want to. It just ticks me off how much harder pregnancy weight is to lose . I could lose 10 lbs in a week just by cutting back for a couple days. Now, nope. I could wire my jaw shut and put in an IV and I still wouldn't lose a pound
I have not had but maybe 2 drinks of reg. coke and NO smarties since the day I started this thread.
As far as exercising, I think that's out for now. Until my medicine Plaqueril kicks in *3 months* I can't take any chances on my swollen joints. Tho I have been feeling somewhat better I'd rather be fat and pain free as possible but the Rheumy can give me a list of exercises to help strengthen me once the meds do kick in.
I don't use much salt anyhow. When I do it's sea salt. I have been looking at labels on soups, broth, etc... and getting "low" or "no" sodium.

aww, I'm sorry K! That sucks that you don't feel good and that the thought of eating makes you feel so sick. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Maybe there is some medication that can help you.

I think my gall bladder is on the fritz again. It has been messed up since I had D but there have been long periods of time that it hasn't bothered me. I don't have stones, it just doesn't function properly. I had a nuc med scan about 7 years ago and it was functioning 1% above what they consider "diseased" and the insurance wouldn't pay for the surgery. I think that may be a lot of my problem. The meds I'm on doesn't help much either. They all kinda make me sick.
I can tell I have lost a few lbs but not nearly enough. At least I can get my jeans over my butt now, I still have a way to go before I can button them
I have still been doing good on the soda issue. I did wolf down 5 sugar cookies today tho they are just too darn good

K~ I hope you can get your system regulated soon. I agree with the other ladies. I have really kicked it into high gear now that the new year is here.

I too, have been drinking the Cherry Coke Zero for the couple of weeks now, and I love it! I haven't had any regular coke except for when me and Tommy went out to dinner the day before New Year's Eve. In all honesty, I don't miss it at all!

I have to get more into eating breakfast, but once I do, then it will be smooth sailing. I hope you can get your gall bladder checked again to see if that is the cause of why you can't eat.
