Sweetie, first let me just say that your baby is ONLY TWO MONTHS OLD!!!! It took you (almost) 9 months to gain all the weight so naturally it is going to take some time to get rid of it. Believe me I feel your pain. I have gained 10-15 lbs in the past 10 months or so (but that's a whole other story)....
The best thing I can recommend is just to do the best you can with exercise. Walk as much as you can and do stretching exercises to strengthen your core. As far as eating, you might need to start eating a little more frequently to boost your metabolism. Even a banana or some yogurt for breakfast....some low fat cheese or an apple and peanut butter as a snack.....just something to get your metabolism moving. Hang in there and give it some time. ![]() |

I know exactly what you're going through! I remember going shopping for shorts this summer and nearly bursting into tears in the change room when the sz. 18 shorts didn't fit around my waist! Like C said, it takes time.
Eating breakfast definitely helps. You may not be hungry but research shows that those who eat breakfast lose more weight than those who skip breakfast. Your metabolism slows down while you sleep and it doesn't speed back up until you eat again. If you don't eat until lunchtime, your body won't burn as many calories as it could during the morning period. You'll bounce back. I've had Kid 2 and six months later, I'm a size down from my pre-pregnancy body thanks to diet and exercise. |

First, I know it's hard to wait, but you just had E
. Give it time ... being patient isn't easy, but as E gets more mobile, so will you . My Ob/Gyn recommended 5-6 mini-meals when I had G. He was recommending it because I was nursing, and it keeps your metabolism and blood sugar even through the day. When your metabolism slows as you get hungry it takes a while to pick back up... if you're constantly snacking, you don't have the lull in between. |

Thanks girls. I know I'm being too hard on myself but after being a certain size most of my life....it's just hard.
I have been keeping myself busy around the house, staying ontop of the cleaning. Mostly trying to move around as much as possible. I have invested in those 5 calorie flavor packs for water. I love the grape, that makes drinking water so much easier. I'm hoping to be almost my normal size by spring, which sucks since I refuse to buy any more jeans. I guess I'll have to wash this pair every other day til I do lose weight ![]() |

EAT!
That is really key.. only eating once a day will cause your body to pack that food on because it is in starvation mode, whether you "feel" hungry or not. You are killing your metabolism by not eating. Start small, half a banana 30 minutes after you wake up, etc and add as you go. It will be hard to lose the weight if you eat only once per day - your body naturally thinks it has to "survive" so it holds onto as much as it can when you do actually eat. Also.. patience is the key. I know, some moms walk out of the hospital int heri size 0s but, lets face it...that ain't the rule its the exception! Your uterus has barely had time to deflate fully... try to be less hard on yourself ![]() |

With the exception of very rare occasions it has always made me extremely ill to eat in the mornings. If I eat breakfast, even if it's fruit or a pop tart, I can't eat the rest of the day. If I have to get up very early to go somewhere and have lots to do I can eat a very light breakfast (maybe a biscuit or cereal) and am okay. Even when I'm on vacations I have to wait until 11am or so to be able to gag pancakes down (breakfast is T's favorite meal).
When I worked--if I were overly busy--I could eat a light lunch. Even then it would be hard for me to eat supper. I don't know why I'm like that. It's much worse since I had E. Sometimes the very thought of food makes me sick. Everything I eat gives me cramps and makes me have the pukey feeling. I force myself to eat supper. I love food, it just doesn't love me lately. I have lost a few more pounds. I haven't weighed myself but my jeans now go over my knees ---but they still won't go past my thighs ![]() |

Krysti, have you had your thyroid checked? I had food issues like that when I was having trouble with my thyroid gland. It was almost like an extended morning sickness and I couldn't eat anything and everything made me feel like throwing up.
It turned out I had a condition called Grave's Disease, which means my antibodies attack my thyroid and make it go all haywire. I took a radioactive pill to kill off the thyroid (mostly) and take supplements for the thyroid hormone. I haven't had any problems since, and the medication is really cheap and available anywhere in the world. |

I have had my thyroid checked dozens of times. I had blood work a little over a month ago and it's fine. I have always had symptoms of a thyroid disorder. I stay tired, my hair comes out very easy (sometimes I worry that I'm going bald it falls out so much), my weight has always been like a rollercoaster. I can gain or lose up to 10 pounds in a week flat for no apparent reason.
Did your blood work come out normal? I'm not sure about Graves but one thyroid disorder hides itself. The bloodwork turns out normal but a nuclear medicine scan picks up the disease. |
