Well my biggest problem has been I was able to eat everything while being pregnant and breast feeding and then when I stopped I was still hungry all the time. I have slowed down my eating but the last week I have been feeling like I am starving again. I love salads and I grill myself chicken normally for lunch. That use to be enough prepregnancy but now I feel like my stomach is huge. I was over weight before getting pregnant but now I am absolutely huge! I buy clothes and then I gain weight. I drink maybe one pop a week, I normally drink water, tea or that new protein water from Kellogs. So I am trying. Once I get my Y membership I will be working out more.

Good tips. I'm glad I'm not the only one with issues...I lost all my pregnancy weight by December (K was born in September), then hopped on the scale just last week and found out I gained 6lbs back. I still fit my clothes with room to spare so I shouldn't panic, but I worked hard to get to size 10 and I want to stay there.

Well I have now lost 11lbs as of last monday. I haven't weighed myself yet today. I do that before I shower, and I shower while K naps so I am patiently waiting. I only drank one pop all week last week.
That is a big improvement for me. I also exercised almost as much as I had planned on. I walked for 20 minutes and used the ab-lounger for 10 minutes three times last week. It is a good start. Yesterday we had a car wash and I say that was a great work out also. |

Thanks guys! I haven't weighed in for this week because I fell off the wagon and ate to my hearts content last week but, I did lose four more pounds. I don't think I have gained anything back but I really need to start being consistant. I want to be at least 50 lbs light before K's birthday. (that is including what I have already lost.)

Jana ~ I didn't see your post earlier ... yep 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag there's a guy at work that says that a lot referring to work stuff lol.
Well ladies I wanted to come and post some happy news about myself as well! I am down 8 pounds in 3 weeks! It has really been the culmination of several things ... new antidepressant that has fewer appetite side effects then the other SSRIs I've taken + my daughter self-weaned + acupuncture. I've been writing down everything I eat which I hadn't done for years and have been staying between about 1200-1500 calories a day, but I'm moreso focusing on getting 25g of fiber a day. It is better for me to focus on what I can have versus what I can't have. So I hope I keep sticking to it ... it is definitely a lifestyle change but for me being on medication that made my appetite enormous made it so hard. So its really just me getting back to the healthy self that I had pre-graduate school, pre-baby, etc. |
