Yes, going natural is pretty hot trend right now, so I imagine you could attract and interest lots of clients that way. I don't know of any specific product lines or brands that are safe and still provide good results for styling. Aveda claims to be all-natural, but they still contain tons of chemicals. Burt's Bees does a few shampoos and conditioners, but no other styling products that I know of. Aubrey Organics seems to have a pretty complete line. Another brand I know of is Jason Natural Cosmetics, but I've never used any of their hair products.
I think it's a very good idea, but I honestly don't know how successful you'll be. Most hair care products contain so much stuff in them that's toxic and unnatural, but they provide the results we've come to desire & associate with healthy hair - shiny, smooth locks, nice fragrance, etc. Once you start taking out the toxic chemicals, the products just don't do the same thing. They don't lather like you're used to, they don't "condition" like you're used to, etc. I have yet to find one that I really like. Currently I'm using a Burt's Bees shampoo. Check out the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep database here: Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database and maybe you can enter the specific salon brands you're used to & find something that's not so bad? ![]() |

Thanks Jana. I have used one line so far in the salon. Its Farouk CHI Organic Olive Nutrient Shampoo and Conditioner. Its "ok". I don't love it but don't hate it. Its an option. All my customers are VERY interested in the idea. They said they are tired of all chemicals. Your right about the lather though. And the smell is very "natural"...lolI looked into the Jason brand and it looks good. I will keep looking thanks for your help. I knew we would have some natural Momma's on here... ![]()
