When Nature Calls…

So lately nature has been calling my boy at 5 a.m. The first day, I heard him talking/fussing and thought that maybe I should just ignore it since he wasn’t crying, but call it mommy instinct or whatever, I went in to check on him anyway.  Sure enough, the stink filled the room. I smelled it as soon as I opened the door. Nice! Like clockwork, 5 o’clock in the morning for the past several days.

At least now I know. Fortunately, he’s really calm and relaxed and he goes right back to sleep after a diaper change. My baby has been sleeping like a champ lately and it’s been so nice! Napping is even getting better (longer). However, I’m worried that maybe he’s just been gathering up the rest for all the work he’s going to be doing in the next few days. I think the boy will be crawling very soon.

Just today he got on hands and knees and starting rocking. He goes backwards. A couple of times he’s kind of jumped/rolled forward. I caught him doing this and he banged his head on the floor. He almost cried, but then he saw me smile and started laughing. Such a sweet, silly boy!!

I have to admit that now I’m afraid he will start practicing in his crib all night. He is a belly sleeper so he’s in perfect position to get moving. Just as things were starting to get better in the sleep department, I hope they don’t get worse!!! At least I’ll know it is just a phase and hopefully soon my little angel will go back to being a really good sleeper…….until the next time nature calls.
