It’s pointless to share the past few days with you, but since you’re following, I will. Yesterday was my rest day. It was the first day in seven days that I didn’t exercise. I had told myself that if I wasn’t exhausted by 8 pm, I would go to a yoga class, but by 7:45, both of my kids were sleeping and all I wanted to do was get into bed. I made a delicious pasta dish for dinner (using penne plus – the protein fortified pasta), but ate much more than the recommended serving size. Have any of you ever actually measured out what 1/4 cup of cooked pasta is??? What a joke. What normal person eats that for dinner and then doesn’t pig out on a pint of Ben and Jerry’s? Seriously. So that was that and I was ok with it.
Then today rolls around and I had dressed for the gym, hoping to drop my little one off at my mom and dad’s after dropping the big one off at school so that I could workout. Fat chance. Jett wouldn’t fall asleep for the life of him and since I didn’t pre-plan anything with my parents (I just showed up at their door basically), I couldn’t expect them to deal with a cranky pants all morning. So, screw that idea. No time in the day to workout today. It was too busy and I didn’t have anyone to watch my son. Then I just went ahead and ordered a pizza for Jax and I since daddy is at his usual Tuesday night basketball game.
So yeah, Operation: Chub Be Gone should really just be called Operation: Chub Stay Put because seriously after over a week of eating really healthy and exercising almost daily, my scale has the exact same pathetic number on it. Oh and I am convinced that I have some type of disease that makes your stomach distend. Because really. You should see it. It’s not flabby in the slightest, it’s actually very hard (like a muscle) but sticks so far out that I almost look like a malnourished child except for the fact that the rest of me is not skinny and I’m not a child and I have boobs and yeah, I said almost.
Here’s to tomorrow. If I can’t get to the gym, at least I will work in my Wii Active 30 day challenge and add some extra exercise to it. I also want to go shoe shopping. Pushing a stroller, walking around the mall, and bending to put shoes on and off is a workout, right?
