Today I am so freakin’ tired. I guess I’m just not used to exercising every single day and watching so closely what I eat. I am wondering if I’ll get used to it. I know I’ll get used to the exercising because it is already becoming addicting. I just want to be in shape. I am the mom of two very active boys and I just want to be able to keep up with them. I want to be able to practice sports with them, play ball with them, tackle them, go running and jumping and swimming with them as they grow.
As far as the eating, I can definitely live with eating healthy. I love fruit and veggies and whole grains and I already eat lowfat and nonfat dairy. My main problem is always snacking or reaching for junk because I am too tired to take the time to prepare a healthy snack or meal. I’m over it though. I’ve come to realize that this is just part of my job. I want my kids to be healthy, right? Of course I do. Well, then I have to set the example. I am doing this for all of us. For my kids, for my husband and obviously for me.
So here’s what I ate today -
Breakfast: 1 slice of ezekial sesame sprouted toast with lowfat cottage cheese
Mid-morning snack: golden delicious apple (those are my favorite!) with some peanut butter
Lunch: oatbran pita stuffed with baby spinach, tomato and hummos, drizzled with some olive oil, 1 clementine, and a white chocolate fudsicle (it was only 60 calories!).
Snack: reduced fat string cheese
Dinner: organic chicken sausage with red peppers and onions
I was hungrier today than I’ve been in the past few days so I tried to eat more frequently. That is supposed to be good for your metabolism anyway.
I took a rest day from the Wii, but still managed to get in 20 minutes of exercise. I worked out my triceps, biceps, outer thighs and abs.
I’m just tired today. Really, really tired. I’m hoping that I wake up more energized tomorrow and plan to get some cardio and more abs done.
