Jett is getting to the point of not really enjoying pureed baby food. Ok, he isn’t really “getting” to that point, he actually never has been a big fan. Who can blame him, right? He loves his morning oatmeal with fruit, and I think just fruit in general, but other than that, it is nearly impossible to get him to eat any of the jars of veggie baby food I’ve bought for him at the grocery store. He now eats yogurt and loves fresh fruit in his mesh feeder. He also just started eating teething biscuits and those gerber puffs. I need to start getting some more veggies into him though and plan to just start feeding him whatever we’re having. Hopefully he’ll like chunks of soft food better than the pureed stuff. I have some homemade carrot puree that I thought maybe he’d like, but I had to add some applesauce for him to eat it.
Instead of letting all of that food go to waste, I have a great idea for all of the unused veggie jars he won’t touch. I have been hiding them in my other son’s food. The almost 4 year old who won’t willingly touch a vegetable. Yeah, that one. I’ve put pureed peas in pizza sauce on a pizza. He actually said “oh mama, you know what my favorite part of the pizza is? The sauce!”. If only he knew. LOL! Tonight I used pureed butternut squash to coat chicken breasts with bread crumbs and wheat germ. He loved it! I wonder what other sneaky concoctions I can come up with?!?!
