All In The Job Description

logo

I am a stay-at-home-mom and a full-time student. I don’t work outside the home, and when some people hear that, they seem to immediately think I do nothing. I thought, for future reference, I would make a list of things I do daily/weekly/monthly/annually to tack onto my resume. I’ve decided that this list has qualified me for several positions.

Short order cook
Gourmet chef
Nutritionist
Dietitian
House keeper
Laundry specialist
Tailor
Personal shopper
Handy-woman
Computer technologist
Tax analyst/advisor
Budget coordinator
Accountant
Daycare worker
Preschool teacher
Dog groomer
Dog trainer
Massage therapist
Speech therapist
Counselor
Doctor/Nurse/Nurse’s Aide… MOM

I would imagine every mother could check off quite a few of those on the list. I may be reaching a little on some, but once upon a time, before the days of licenses and ridiculously expensive education, I could easily walk into any of these positions and hold my own.

So, to all moms, I suggest looking over your qualifications and adjusting your resume too. My requested base pay just shot up into the six figure range. I’d say we’re over qualified for most positions!
