We’re Home!!

Yay! We’re home!!!

What do you think of all that hair?!?!
And here’s just a cute sleepy face…

Comments:

  1. Welcome home! He's so adorable! I can't get over all that hair, and people were commenting on all the hair ds had when he was born. He doesn't even come close to cutie Jett!
  2. What a cutie! He already has more hair than me. LOL! Ooh, didn't you have a ton of heartburn this pregnancy? You know what they say... heartburn = lots of hair!

    Glad you are home!
  3. That hair cracks me up! He has more hair than most adult men Totally adorable. Such a handsome fella.
I'm happy that baby Jett and Mommy are both home. It's so exciting to bring baby home for the first time. Congrats girlie! I bet Jax is loving the role of "big brother", I'm sure he'll be a big help--getting diapers and wipes and so on. I also bet Jester is in hog heaven, Jett looks so much like him.
BTW....the name Jett completely suits him! I LOVE that name!
  4. What a cutie!! I love how their hair sticks up. Makes me want to stroke his head!
  5. Welcome home, C and Jett!!! He is soooooo precious! I love the hair. He already has more than enough to actually play with -- cute!
  6. oh, I am so glad you are HOME! He is totally precious
  7. Welcome home!!! He is so adorable!! Love the hair!!
  8. Thanks guys! I love his hair too and yes, I am always playing with it. I hope it doesn't fall out!!!
  9. I was just going to say that I wondered how long it would hang around!! I remember thinking C didn't lose much of his hair, but I recently looked back at the pictures and was like, "WOAH, I guess he lost a ton of hair!" I must not have realized it, due to my blind love for that infant!

Jett is precious. I am seriously so sad that I can't visit him and hold him.
  10. aww megan, you're so sweet.

so unfortunately jett's billirubin number went up and he has lost a TON of weight - 11 oz. I am so sad for him. He is such a tiny little peanut. I need to try to feed him a ton more...but he won't wake up to feed. my boobs are killing me!!!!

Doc suggested that we give it one more night and then I need to supplement with formula to help the jaundice and weight loss.
  11. Oh, poor baby J. We went through the same thing with N. No fun.
I hope everything else is going ok. How has your recovery been so far?
I am thinking of you lots.
  12. Aww, C! I'm so sorry. Looks like you'll get to have a nurse-in today/tonight. Don't feel too bad about the weight loss though. G went from 7lbs 7oz to 6lbs 9oz... and he wasn't back to his birth weight until he was just under 3 weeks old.

If you've got a pretty private area in your back yard, strip Jett down to his diaper and take him outside to nurse. The sun will be good for the jaundice and being outside might help him wake up to nurse. Maybe give him a little sponge bath (always woke G up) and then try to nurse. I also kept a wet-wipe on hand to put on G's feet/cheeks if he fell asleep at the job. Maybe pump the other side while he's nursing -- it should give you some relief and get you out of having to supplement with formula if it comes down to it.
  13. Good advice from KK!

Maybe try to cosleep with him tonight and/or just until he gains his birthweight back?
  14. Yes, good advice, KK! I also pumped on one side while nursing on the other side. It's amazing how quickly let down happens (on the pump side) when you're nursing the other side... I found that it was nearly impossible to experience let down if I WASN'T nursing on the other side.

It will all work out. Stay positive and sleep when you can!!! HUGS!
  15. I'm glad you're both home. Like KK said, I also had to use a damp washcloth to keep Mc awake long enough to nurse. I also remember the lactation consultant saying to rub their cheeks as they nurse-I guess there is some kind of reflex there that gets "woken up" when you touch the cheek and they start to suck. With such a sweet little face, I don't think that's too hard to do with Jett.
  16. I keep coming back to stare at his gorgeous little face. I think he looks quite a bit like Jax in that second picture. Maybe it's the sleepy mouth?
  17. Hey guys! Well the good news is that little Jett gained back 3.5 oz and his bilirubin number stayed the same. I go back to the pedi again tomorrow and as long as his numbers go down even just a tiny bit, he won't need the blanket anymore. I aggressively breastfed him last night - waking him every few hours to eat and he did great. I didn't need to supplement and doc said to just keep up the good work. Yay!
  18. Woohoo! Good job!
  19. Yay!!! That's great . I read somewhere that bili levels tend to peak on day 3-4, so that would definitely fit in with Jett's levels. As long as he's eating and pooping, they'll drop. No more bili-blanket! I'm sure that will help you both sleep better.
  20. That would be great to get rid of that blanket!!
  21. Oh, yay! Good job, C!
  22. Awesome job Mama!
  23. Great news on the feeding going better! I hope he keeps gaining weight!

My dad would be so jealous of his hair...
  24. lol Margs!

Well today there was no change. No weight increase, in fact a 1/2 oz loss but the dr said they don't even count that as it could easily just be scale variations. His billi number was the same too. So, we are on the blanket until his numbers go down. We go in on Saturday morning to have it checked again. that it is normal.....I just can't wait to get him off the blanket.
  25. Oh, I was hoping his billi number was on the way down. Hopefully that goes down and the weight goes up. He seems a bit confused. Maybe you should explain things to him. I'm sure it's hard having extra stuff to worry about. You have plenty on your mind already.
  26. Oh C! He's just BEAUTIFUL! I know boys aren't supposed to be "beautiful" - but he truly is! Congrats again to you and Jester! What a wonderful second blessing for you both!
  27. I was hoping that the numbers would be right and you could get rid of that blanket. I hope Saturday goes great and your rid of that blanket forever!!
  28. Hey C! Remember me??? (Dana!)

  36. He's doing great - has been off the blanket since Saturday! We go back to the pediatrician on Monday for his 2 week checkup so hopefully he has gained weight and will be back to birth weight. He seems soooo teeny to me.
