Potty Training Day 3: Taking a Break

I guess I should not have gotten so excited yesterday because today it’s just like PTing never happened. We had a very rough night so I’m trying to chalk up my son’s complete lack of interest to not feeling well.

No nap yesterday, so naturally Jax was exhausted by bed time. I managed to keep him awake until 7:30 p.m. At about 10:30 he woke up and his pajama bottoms were wet. He had leaked through his pull-up and was running a fever. He couldn’t get comfortable to go back to sleep and wanted to go on the potty. He went and I put a fresh diaper on him. He was literally up almost all night. He was burning up, but wouldn’t let me take his temperature or take any tylenol. His breathing was rapid and he was complaining of a tummy ache every so often. He did not want to sleep in my room. He wanted me to sleep in his room. Unfortunately we didn’t really sleep.

At 7:15 a.m. he was ready to get up for the day. I don’t understand how a kid can function on no sleep. I’m dying over here.  It’s now 10 a.m and he’s in the same diaper I put on him about midnight. It’s wet, he doesn’t care. He hasn’t eaten or drank a thing today.  He is still warm, but not HOT and is acting totally fine. He says his stomach feels fine, but I can smell some gas emanating from him every so often.

I mentioned the underwear once and he wasn’t too interested so I didn’t push it. We’ll see what happens as the day progresses. I’m just hoping I can get him to lay down and relax because I sure need to.
