All you have to do is tell me a funny potty training story and it does not have to be a personal experience since I know some of you aren’t there yet. This will come in handy for when you (or really, your little ones) are ready, though!
Next Thursday, February 21, I’ll set up a poll and we’ll vote on the funniest/cutest stories. The winner will get this brand new potty seat courtesy of BabyTalkers. Alright, now get those stories coming….

During his bath the other night, G pointed at the big potty and said "pee pee". Of course, I made a big deal about him telling me, so he repeated it for the rest of his bath. I got him out of the tub and was drying him off. He runs around naked for a few minutes while I get him ready for bed (dry him off, cover him in lotion, let the lotion soak in a little, diaper, pj's, etc...). I had just dried him off and grabbed the lotion when he decided to pee on the potty. I stood there with my jaw on the floor because I didn't know how to react to it. I didn't want to freak out and scare him. Once the shock wore off we clapped, and I cleaned up the lovely mess
Notes for next time: If he points at the potty and says "pee pee" again I'll believe him and stick him on it.
The very first time ds used the potty completely unassisted, he was wearing a t-shirt and underwear while I was making breakfast. He went into the bathroom, got the little potty off the back of the toilet, and set it on the floor. He straddled it, sat down, and peed - straight through his underwear into the potty! (He went bottomless the rest of the day after that incident, ha!)
We're still working on it. Hopefully he'll be trained so that he can start school in the fall. LOL
She has this thing about when he pees in the bath he has to get out and she cleans the tub before she puts him back in. So when he was ready to train she told him he couldn't pee in the tub or he had to get out. So that was all it took, he would tell he he had to pee and she would take him out of the tub and put him on the potty, no problem. Then comes #2...
One of the first days he had on big boy underwear he pooped in them. She told him you can't poop in your underwear!!! So she threw them away and went on with her day. The next day she walked into her bedroom and saw something on the carpet by her bed. She went over to look and it was poo!! She found him and told him you can't poop on mama's carpet!!! He said well I didn't poop in my underwear! The next day, in her room again there was something on the tile by her sliding glass door... POOP! She asked him what that was all about and he said " well you said I couldn't poop in my underwear or on the carpet!" She finally said you can only poop in the potty. ANd that was that, no accidents again!!
for the most part during the day, I am the one home with the kids. so if I go into the bathroom, I get a couple of followers in there with me. Brandon one day came in and was paying close attention to what I was doing. the next time he went on the potty (still sitting down) he told me that he needed some toilet paper. I gave him a little bit just to see what he was going to do with it. he proceeded to use the toilet paper to wipe himself.....I couldn't help but laugh to which he responded by laughing.
later on that day, when daddy got home, we told him about the potty incident. to which Tommy responded by taking Brandon into the bathroom (with Logan following right behind them) to show him how daddy goes potty. Logan went and stood right next to the toilet as Tommy was going to the bathroom, and Logan looks and says "daddy pee pee" as he is about to touch it. And now any time they get the chance to be in the bath tub together, they try to cross their "streams" to make designs. It does prove to be an interesting bath tub.....especially if they use creativity!
(hey, it is a lot better then cleaning it up off the floor or the carpet! so I will take them trying any way I can!)
So anyhow, my mom is keeping him one weekend and knows the drill about the stool. She has a 2 step Train shaped stool (the top opens for storage). He says pee pee and she take him in there, pulls his diaper off and he climbs up the first step and pees - right on his feet! She started laughing and he looked very sternly at her and said "no-no" and then clapped! He wanted her to clap, not laugh.
At this point, he pees in the toilet about 85% of the time when he says he needs to. Int he next month we are going to work on PT full time, right now its a casual thing, I don't want to push him too hard.
One day I was upstairs getting K's stuff ready to give K her bath and K was in her bedroom. I turned around to see what K was doing and she had pulled down her pull up and was peeing on daddy's p.j. pants.
I wish I had some stories, but we aren't there yet!! I'm enjoying reading these though!!
Shan, my DH grabs stuff out of the dirty hamper all the time. I don't get men! I would not want to wear dirty, wrinkly clothes. Let alone w/ my child's pee on them. Ha!!! Maybe that will break that habit for your dh!!
I am amazed at the number of funny stories here. Personally, I have NONE. Potty training was not at all funny to me; it stressed me out so much, and I'm not looking forward to doing it again.
Anyway, we have a seat that looks just like that (except ours is also white). I just wanted to say that it's great. It was easy to put on and is easy to clean.
