Desperately Seeking Lovey

My son never really had a “lovey”. I’ve introduced different stuffed toys and blankets to him, but he has never gotten attached to any of them. Sure, he likes them, but probably wouldn’t even notice if one or all of them were to go missing.

On the other side of the fence are kids who are extremely attached to their lovies. Parents often buy multiple stuffed bears or blankets just in case one gets lost or has to go in the washing machine. But, what happens if you don’t have multiples and one gets lost?

Apparently it’s not only the child who freaks out. According to this story, a mom desperately searches near and far for her 2-year old’s beloved tattered pillow. While reading it, I thought to myself, why not give up after a few days? Hasn’t the kid forgotten by then? I guess I just can’t relate because my son has never been attached to anything like that. How about you? What lengths would you go to to find your child’s lovey?
