My Little Einstein

I am really not the braggy type, I swear. In fact, I normally hold back and save ‘em for the grandparents who can admittedly relish in these things. However, I just had to share how impressed I am with my little man. He is 21 months old and he knows all of his colors…………even turquoise and magenta. Ok, not really, but he does know all the basic colors and not only accurately points them out when we ask him, he now says them all without any prompting. Yesterday purple was either blue or puh, but a few minutes ago, clear as day, it is indeed purple. Yellow is yellow. Red is red. Blue is blue. White is white. Black is blah. Brown is brown. Green is geen. Pink is pink. Orange is a one-syllable ornge. Yellow seems to be his favorite, which was mine too as a kid and it sounds the cutest when he says it. :)

He can also count to ten. Sometimes the order is a little mixed up and he’ll skip from six right to nine, but for the most part he does really well.

We are still working on the alphabet and I’d say he knows a good deal of letters, but doesn’t really say them yet. I was reading him a bedtime story last night and pointed to the word “opposite”. He said “Oh Pee Pee Oh”! I just about died. Other than that, letters are words. Meaning he will say a word that begins with the letter instead of saying the name of the actual letter. A is apple. W is wah for walrus. D is door. Or maybe it’s Dora? He has a thing for her, ya know. J is Jax. X is Jax (or is that his way of pronouncing X?) hmm. Either way, I’m impressed. How ’bout you? LOL

  1. OMG that is just the cutest! "oh pee pee oh!" Little smarty pants!
  2. That is really good if you ask me! I know that when k starts talking I am in trouble. She already will look out her crib and shout "mommma" Then she will bounce when she sees me walking towards her crib.

    Jax is just too cute.
  3. That is so cute, C! Brag away!
  4. I love "Oh Pee Pee Oh" bit!! What a smart little man. Heck, he's already way smarter then a lot of the people I work with ...
  5. Impressed doesn't even begin to describe it - LOL! My youngest is almost months old, and she is the silent type. You gotta watch out for those kind, though, as they are the ones who like to flush toys down the toilet and rummage through the garbage. I think you might want to consider kindergarten for your Little Einstein!
  6. Good job Jax
  7. what a clever little boy, and yes brag away! we just have to sometimes :-) Ella is quite clever at pointing out things accuratly, especially her dora book, she knows boots, Dora, swiper the stars, ok she watches too much Dora lol!
