He’s growing up!
The past year and half has gone by really quickly, but the past week has gone right before my eyes. I don’t know what happened to my baby. He doesn’t seem like he’s my baby anymore!!
A week from now, my little man will be twenty months old. That is almost TWO! What a huge difference a couple of months can make. I’m guessing that I can anticipate even more changes by the time his birthday arrives.
In the past week, my son has had a real word explosion. As you can see in my toddler translator post, his list of words has gotten pretty big and it keeps growing……by the hour. Not only is he talking non-stop, but he understands everything going on around him.
Just the other day, for example, we were hanging out with my friend and her son. The little boy was making funny noises and jumping around in his exercauser, while his mom was doing her own silly thing. Well, my son looked over at me with a face that spoke a thousand words and then ran over to me with a hug, as if to say “mom, they are weird!!! I’m glad we’ve got each other”. It was a totally cool experience because I really feel like I connected with him on a whole new level. I know it probably sounds like no big deal, but I think it was one of those “you had to be there” moments.
To top all this growing up stuff my little guy has been doing lately, he had his first real hair cut (a mohawk!) and he looks like a totally different person. Everyone keeps saying he looks like a big boy now. Yes, he does and he is! Where did my baby go?
