One woman's journey through life as a mom.
This weekend we took a last minute trip to the West coast of Florida. It’s less than a 3 hour drive so we packed up our stuff and got in the car around J’s nap time. He slept, as big J drove and I read out loud an interesting article about a penis in Women’s Health magazine……but that’s a whole other post. 
We had lunch at McDonald’s and did not feel guilty about it at all. We stopped at some outlet shops and made it to Captiva Island at about 6 pm. We had dinner and walked along the beach to watch the sunset. It was beautiful.
The next day we spent the day in the water. Hours at the beach, followed by splashing around in the pool. J loves swimming. He also loves when his daddy throws him in the air. The higher the better. This kid has no fear!
Being outside all day really makes you hungry. We had seafood for dinner followed by ice cream. Sounds gross, but we walked around a bit between the two so it wasn’t like we had one right after the other.
The next day we headed home. It was a very short trip, but relaxing and much appreciated. Sometimes you need to just break out of the routine of every day life to feel revitalized……..and that we do!
