1. I’m in a book club. Once a month, a group of us get together at someone’s house for food and drinks and some book discussion. I don’t always read the books because I don’t really go for the books. I just need the break! This month we are reading Wife in the Fast Lane and I plan to read it.
2. I love pedicures. I had to take my mom to the eye doctor the other day. On the way home, my son fell asleep in the car. I dropped my mom off at her house and carried my sleeping boy in to her house too. I ran out to get a pedicure.
3. I suck at food shopping. Going to the grocery store is a chore for me, yet I find myself planning when I have to go. It gets me out of the house sometimes and once I’m there I guess I don’t mind it so much. I hardly ever go with a list. My husband complains that I don’t buy anything he likes, but he doesn’t give me any suggestions. There are lots of snacks in our house!!!
4. I hate exercising. I have a gym membership. I have maybe gone 10 times in the past 2 years. I don’t mind going on walks, but it is too hot out and my son won’t sit in a stroller so I can’t take him. It’s boring by myself. I like swimming, but not for the exercise. I just like to float.
5. Some days I never change out of my pajamas. Most days of the week, I leave the house at some point. I like having places to go and people to see. Some days, I don’t have anywhere to go and I stay home in my PJs all day. I like those days too.
6. I like to travel. My parents love to travel so I was brought up with traveling as a part of my life. My husband loves to travel, probably more than I do so we’ve made that a big part of our life too. I have been to 19 countries outside of the United States. Our last trip in the US was to Colorado. Our last trip outside the US was to Asia.
7. I love to eat. Seriously, I love food. I used to be a very very very picky eater. I wouldn’t touch meat, including chicken and fish with a ten foot poll. Like grilled cheese and pizza were the only thing on my menu. I was really skinny. Then I went to college and I met my husband. I started eating a lot more variety of foods. Soon, not much was off limits, but I still wouldn’t eat meat. Then I got pregnant. I craved red meat. Now I LOVE it. Now I’m 15 pounds heavier than I was pre-pregnancy, even though I only gained 17 lbs when I was pregnant and lost it all within a week of giving birth.
8. I watch more cartoons than any other shows. I used to be a huge tv addict. I had like a gazillion shows I watched every week. Now I watch TWO. Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. Oh……..other than Dora, Diego, Sesame Street, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, etc.
9. I like to play boardgames. I love games, but sadly we haven’t played any in a while. My family used to have game night and I’d like to incorporate that when our kid(s) are old enough. In college, we’d (as in husband: then boyfriend and I) have game nights with other couples. Alcohol was almost always involved. Some games I like are: Scrabble, Balderdash, Taboo, Cranium, Uno
10. I hate housework and maintenance. With a passion. I think my husband and I would do better in an apartment, but there isn’t enough space. We have too much stuff….
11. I love my family. With a passion. I am fiercely loyal and protective of them. Don’t mess with the people I love!!
12. I’m scared of flying. Yes, I have been on a plane about 17 gazillion times but I am still scared. Every. Single. Time. I used to take a xanax or any other anxiety pill I could score before flying.
13. I’m a wanna be artist. Actually I’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s just not in me. My mom, my brother, grandparents on both sides – all artists. Me – not. Let’s just say that I’m better than average, but I certainly am no artist.
14. I used to sing into a tape recorder. My voice SUCKS! Seriously, I could be one of those people on American Idol that everyone laughs at during the auditions. I could be one of those people that Simon says is the “worst singer in America”. When I was a little girl, I didn’t care. I liked to sing so I did.
15. I had a hard time coming up with this list. I really don’t like talking about myself. I rather listen to other people talk about themselves. So, tell me about YOU! Tell me some random tidbits about yourself. Your list can’t be as boring as mine. For more lists, check out the Friday Fifteen.
