Let me tell you a quick story about something I did today and the reason why I came to the conclusion that I am sick of my diaper bag. It’s Thursday and that means my cleaning lady is here. She arrives at 1 p.m. which is smack in the middle of my son’s nap time.
Never mind that, she gets here today and informs me that I am totally out of cleaning supplies. Off I rush to the store, with my son in tow, to gather the 5 items she needs. The store is literally 2 minutes from my house, but the second I turn my key in the ignition, my son fell asleep.
So, I get to the store and I put my debit card in my pocket, along with the short list of things to buy. My keys are in the belt loop of my jeans and my 30 lb son is draped over my right shoulder. I walk into the store and one-handedly push a shopping cart, grab what I need, pay and leave.
Are you wondering what any of this has to do with a diaper bag? I’m not sure that it does, although having my hands and pockets free would have been nice. If I had a diaper bag that wasn’t so freakin’ heavy and annoying, I could have perhaps brought it in with me too. I’m not much of a fanny pack type of girl, but it would be cool if they made something like the Mini Dude a little more feminine for us ladies.
The truth is, I really do like carrying a diaper bag, but I’m hating the one that I wear right now. It’s too big and flimsy and I am so not into the messenger style. It’s way too difficult to get what I need from it. So, I’ve been looking…..and looking…and looking. I don’t know what I want, but I figured when I saw it, I’d know. Kinda like when I’m clothes shopping. I never go with anything particular in mind. I just know that if it pops out at me then that’s what I want.
Well, with a name like Chocolate Covered Fabulous, who could resist?
