Baby Soup

This morning Jax and I went swimming. The weather is sketchy here in summertime, either rainy or super hot so on the mornings that it’s nice and clear out, you have to take advantage. So, we’re hanging out on the steps and J is inspecting me with intense curiosity. Finally he points to my swimsuit and says “baby soup”. That’s right Jax, it’s my bathing suit!

He’s pretty awesome at speaking now and pronounces most of his words correctly, but some of them are just too cute. What are some adorable mispronunciations your kiddos say?

Comments:

  1. That is hilarious! When I started reading it I was thinking that maybe your pool water was so warm that you were making baby soup. It kind of reminded me of "A Modest Proposal", lol.
  2. Some of my family got together for an early 4th of July celebration last night, and my niece couldn't say firecracker. She said every possible pronunciation of it until she settled on boom boom carcass. I can't wait for Gavin to start talking.
  3. I love it! Ds only pronounces a few words accurately right now, so he has many cute mispronunciations!
  4. Well one of DD's favourite films is Madagascar. As you can imagine she can't pronounce this right..she says something like Ma-gaga, which is close enough I say! It's so cute! She'll say "Ma-gaga please mommy".

A lot of the time when I have guests round and she talks to me they say to me "how could you understand what she just said?". It's pretty much another language to most people. Even DH has to ask me what shes saying a lot of the time!
  5. N has had a few, but her all-time best was "boonce" for "spoon". We were glad when she got the pronunciation right but also sad to see "boonce" gone for good.
  6. Cameron's funniest is when someone laughs at her. She says, "Dat's not bunny".
  7. Too cute! LOL-I just love when they first start talking-it's truly a special time!
  8. Ha, Margs! Boonce is sooo cute!
