Appalling sight of the day
So yesterday we’re driving to our “mommy and me”-type class and Jax and I take notice of this really cool car next to us because it looks like Flo from the Disney Pixar movie CARS. If you’ve been around for more than 5 minutes, you probably already know that my son is obsessed with this movie and all of the characters because I’m sure I’ve mentioned it…..oh maybe a few times.
Anyway, so we’re driving next to this car that looks like Flo except it’s darker green and in much worse condition. It’s pretty banged up and has grateful dead stickers all over the back. I notice there’s a kid in the front seat. It totally reminds me of the discussion we just had here about what age everyone will let their child sit up front. Meanwhile, I’m trying to figure out how old this kid is and trying to think back about how old I was when I was allowed and the car goes in front of us……and keeps driving in the direction of our class. I’m thinking to myself “no freakin’ way” and then the car turns into the parking lot. Yeah, turns out the kid is not even TWO YEARS OLD yet and was sitting in the front seat with no car seat. I was appalled. Are you?

Even in a car with no airbags, little kids don't belong in the front.
I am so happy that our county and the county adjacent have a huge no tolerance policy for unbuckled kids and such.
Negligent, illegal, unsafe, ohh, I could just go on and on!
It's also really sad to me that the parents felt obliged to take their toddler to a mommy & me class but won't buckle him/her up!!!
Did you say anything?
I wish everybody could pass out tickets for that stuff.
I agree with Jana - why take them to a mommy & me class if you don't care enough to put them in a carseat???
I've called the police a couple of times on the interstate when I've seen young children playing around on the front seat--unbuckled. It absolutely floors me to think what could happen to these children in a split second, if a car were to weave into their lane or they go smashing into a car in front of them... or whatever. Some parents just do not deserve to have such precious cargo in their care!!! Argh!
if i had seen her i would have said something to her, i do not care...the child will suffer when they are hurt or even worse killed.
