Dear Son,

As I lay here watching you sleep, I am overwhelmed with the same intensity of emotions I had when I saw your precious face for the very first time.

I just love you.

The crease on your chubby little thigh, your pudgy fingers, the sound of you breathing, the powdery smell of your soft skin. It’s intoxicating. You are intoxicating.

You could throw tantrum after tantrum. You could whine for no reason. You could fight sleep all day. It doesn’t change the way I feel.

I just love you.

Even without your perfectly round nostrils, your enormous blue eyes, your plump and kissable pout, your scrumptious cheeks, your crazy messy tousled hair…….

Even without those things, you would still be the most beautiful person on earth.

Because you’re mine….and I just love you.

I have watched you grow from a tiny, helpless baby who nuzzled into my chest and drank from my breast all day, into the adorable, hilarious, and quite dramatic toddler that you are today.

Every day you impress me. You amaze me. You make me laugh. You make my heart swell with so much pride and love and adoration, I think it might burst.

When you wrap your little arms around my body and hug me with so much force, my very soul fills with warmth and gratitude.
