One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2007 was to drink more water. I made the decision last night to make today THE day. It must be fate. I was online going through my usual routine which frequently includes a visit to Mama Knows Breast. I saw that she was showing off her daily means of hydration and wanted to join the club. I have a 64 oz water bottle that I bought awhile ago, as this goal has been on my list for ages.
So, I whipped out the bottle last night, filled it with water and put it in the fridge so it was ready for me this morning. I am trying so hard to be a healthy mama this year. I remember always being thirsty when I was pregnant and breast feeding, but once my son weaned, I guess my body just didn’t send me that signal anymore.
I am such a caffeine addict, the first thing I reach for is normally a cup of coffee or a diet coke. Making the decision to cut that all out and drink mostly water and LOTS of it is not an easy feat. I figured that the “8 glasses in 1″ would make things less difficult. My husband thinks it looks overwhelming, but it seems fairly simple to me. What do you think? In case you can’t tell, it’s the giant blue bottle above next to all the toy trucks.
So far so good. I am actually enjoying drinking all this water and feeling really good. I always make sure that my son has a sippy cup of water nearby, so now I am actually practicing what I preach. They do say kids learn by example.
