In my opinion, playgroups and baby classes are important for socialization and learning. It is also a great way for stay at home moms to get out of the house and interact with other moms and share experiences about your children. Personally, I’ve noticed big leaps in developmental milestones with my son after he’s spent time with other kids his age or slightly older.
Currently, we take a class once a week called “play together, learn together” and we take swim class one afternoon a week. Those are the only two structured classes we participate in, but we do have “playdates” with friends atleast once a week. We also randomly try new things, such as storytime at the library or bookstore. Going to the park is another favorite. Even shopping at the mall is fun for my son. He loves crowds, lights, colors and action.
I was wonderming how many days a week do most mommies get together with other moms and their kids? How do you find your playgroups? Do you take any “mommy and me” type classes?
