My son has had a few pairs of shoes in his life. The first were a little pair of suede moccasins that he wore in Europe to keep his tootsies warm. The second pair was a “robeez-type” copy shoe from Target.com. They were cute – blue leather with a little puppy dog on them made by Circo. He wore these in Japan. Both were totally soft soled shoes that he wore basically for warmth and cleanliness.
When he started walking, we got him his first pair of real shoes from stride rite. He has an exceptionally wide foot – size 6 ww so we didn’t have many choices. We went with a basic brown leather sandal that was very cute, but unfortunately they shrunk after getting wet at the park. He had only worn them a handful of times.
Now that he’s literally running and all over the place, it was time to get a pair of shoes that would last for as long as his feet fit in them and that weren’t very expensive. We got him his first pair of sneakers from Payless ShoeSource©
They have a great selection of kids’ shoes. Come to realize, my son really just wears a normal size 6.5 so buying shoes for him is fairly easy.
