Our little messenger

We’ve recently rearranged our living room so we have two couches that are L shaped, but split up if you can picture that. One is against one wall and the other is against another. It’s a pretty large space and the area between the couches is where our 15 month old son often plays when we are downstairs. Tonight, my husband and I were sitting one on each couch trying to figure out what we would do...

Runny nose, diarrhea and diaper rash!

Not a pretty combo. My son has had a runny nose for about a week. Didn’t seem like anything to be concerned about. I thought it was teething. Now I see it probably isn’t. Today the poor baby is also suffering from diarrhea, which in turn brought on the diaper rash. Each time we have to change his diaper, he screams and cries. Unfortunately that is something we can’t avoid. We’re trying...

Movie Review: The Last Kiss

Ok, so this is totally random and might seem like it has nothing to do with babies, but I could tie it in. Ofcourse I could, I’m a mommy – isn’t that what most of us do? We make everything about our children? So, last weekend my husband and I planned on having a date night. My mother-in-law offered to babysit, we happily obliged. This “leaving my baby” thing is getting easier....

Breastfeeding Blog

There is a sisterhood among women, especially women who are moms. Between moms, there are other sisterhoods, like those who breastfeed. If you have an experience like me, it won’t be an easy start, but if...

Elective c-sections have higher mortality rate for babies

A new study has found a higher risk of infant deaths among infants born by Caesarean section to mothers who have no medical need for the procedure. While C-sections have saved the lives of “countless” women and babies, and the risk of infant death is still very low, it is crucial to determine the reasons for the higher infant mortality seen with C-section, because the rates of this surgery are becoming...

sleep. would. be. nice.

Sleep. I love to sleep. But I can’t sleep. Babies don’t let you sleep. Atleast my baby doesn’t let me sleep. He’s never been a good sleeper. I was convinced that everyone else was lying, but I am pretty sure that I was just blessed with a baby that doesn’t want to miss a thing. He loves me. Yep, he wants to be with me all the time. That’s what I’ll keep telling myself...

Travel Toy for my Toddler

I was at Babies R Us today using up the rest of a store credit I had. I could literally go nuts at that store and buy everything off the shelves, but I had to control myself. Well, I am always on the lookout for small little travel toys that will be new and exciting for my son when we go somewhere. Today I came across something really adorable, that I think he will love. It’s the Cheerios Snack-n-Go Cellphone 2...
