With a first child, I think you always rely on advice from friends, whether they be online friends or real life friends. You don’t know what to expect and you don’t know what you need, so you listen to what they say and make a decision based on who has the most sensible reasoning. My husband and I decided on the Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller in Black Sable, so you’d think we would get the matching infant car seat that just snaps in, right? Wrong! Instead of the Primo Viaggio, we got the Graco Snugride Infant Car Seat in Colby. It fits right into the easy as pie (and light, I might add) Snap N’ Go by Baby Trend. That was great for a while. I was able to bring my son in and out of the car easily without disrupting his sleep. Then he started growing…..

The infant carseat became so cumbersome and heavy. We ended up only using it for about 2 1/2 months. My son would get hysterical if he was in it for more than 10 minutes. Soon he would start crying as soon as we put him in. Car rides were not pleasant, to put it mildly. Finally we decided it was time to switch to the “big boy” carseat.

Ahhhh the Granite Marathon Convertible Car Seat by Britax Child Safety Inc. was such a welcome change. It’s just a big comfy recliner for my son and now car rides are a pleasure. He happily looks out the window for a few minutes and then falls right to sleep. I do need to unstrap him and take him in and out of the carseat to go anywhere, but atleast he is comfortable.
