Who am I kidding? I only gained 17 lbs during my pregnancy and the kid came out weighing 8 lb 3 oz. By the time we came home from the hospital, I had lost all my weight and by the time he was a week old, my stomach was back to normal. Then the sleepless nights started, the stress from baby crying and of course the ravenous appetite due to breastfeeding came on and I started to put on weight. 3 1/2 months post partum and I am gaining weight instead of losing it. So really, it’s not the “baby” fat, it’s just fat!
The scales haven’t changed much, but I feel huge. I guess when you have a baby, your body parts kinda move around a bit. I wish I had more energy to exercise and healthier food in my fridge, but that would take effort and I’m too tired! I know I just have to suck it up (or suck it in) and get over the frustration, chug through the fatigue and take better care of myself. Maybe later, I’ll make a grocery list of healthy foods and plan a menu for the week. That would be a start.
