Eating at restaurants with your baby can sometimes be major hassle or the idea of it can be exhausting.
Just like going anywhere with your son or daughter you want to plan it and bring the appropriate supplies. One of the best bits of advice is don’t bring everything you can. Go minimal.
Bring what your baby needs. Are you going to be gone an hour? Bring 1 bottle, 2 burp bloths, a pacifier, and couple of diapers and wipes. You don’t need to bring a monster loaded diaper bag filled to the brim with a fresh pack of diapers.
When the meal arrives often parents play food juggler where one eats their meal while the other parent holds the baby. We’ve learned to schedule eating out around or near his feeding times. Remember a pacifier might just be the best thing never to leave at home.
Another tip might be to pick a restaurant that is noisy. Our son loves the Cheesecake Factory with its high ceilings and lots of background chatter noise, he sleeps very well here
. A quiet restaurant gives the opposite effect for us. It might be a complete 180 degree turn for you and your baby however. These are things that you learn along the way the more you venture out.
Less hassle for us and more eating time. There are times where we’ve had to whip the bottle out, but so far no dramatic embarrassing restaurant scenes. Our son has performed flawlessly. Thats saying alot because when my guy wants to eat, he really wants to eat. Just like his daddy.
