Wow - this is painful!!! I’m breastfeeding and seem to have a clogged milk duct. I found a small lump in my areola which soon progressed in severe engorgement of half of my breast b/c the milk would not come out. Finally after hot compresses, massage, pumping and nursing as much as I could, it finally drained. Two days later, it happened again. Once again, it’s drained, but I am so scared it will happen again. I must call the doctor tomorrow and see what they can do to help me get rid of this lump so it doesn’t happen again. I’m also afraid of it turning into mastitis. I thought it already had b/c I saw some red splotches that were hot to the touch and was feeling a little under the weather. I think the redness was from the hot compress and the not feeling well was just due to sleep deprivation and stress from having this problem.
